The Beautiful Natalia Osipova

Привет,
That is how you say 'hello' in Natalia's language, yes indeed Natalia Osipova is a beautiful russian ballerina.
Natalia was born on May 18th, 1986. She decided at a young age to pursue a career in Gymnastics, but had to quit because of a back problem. From 1996 to 2004 she studied at the Moscow Choreographic Academy, with Marina Kotova, and Marina Leonova. When she was still studying at the academy, in 2003 she participated in the International Ballet Competition in Luxembourg and won the 'Grand Prix'! She danced variations from 'La Bayadere', 'Don Quixote', 'Esmeralda' and 'Tchaikovsky pas de deux' and a comtemporary piece: 'Liturgy' by Yegor Druzhinin.

When Natalia graduated from the academy she joined the corps de ballet at the Bolshoi Ballet. Even though she was a member of the corps she was immediately given solo parts. In June 2005 Natalia decided to compete in the 10th annual Moscow International Ballet Competition, even though she was still preforming with the Bolshoi. She preformed the pas de deux from 'Flames of Paris', 'Diane and Acteon', 'Don Quixote' and another contemporary piece. Overall she got a bronze medal in the duet section.

After all these achievements you would think that Natalia would've been promoted to a soloist or a principal dancer with the Bolshoi, but no, it wasn't until she performed the role of Kitri on November 7th, 2005, that everyone noticed her and could not believe she was still a member of the corps de ballet. That night she danced with "electrifying energy", her technical abilities and her "daredevilish carefree delivery", earned her well deserved recognition from everyone, she was soon promoted to a soloist. Natalia has been touring extensively to many countries including, America, England, Japan, France and many more. In 2007 Natalia was given the 'Rising Star' prize from the ballet magazine, and many other recognitions from the rest of the world. She is most famous for her roles as Kitri in Don Quixote and Medora in La Corsaire.
On October 18, 2008 Natalia was promoted to Leading Soloist, and on May 1, 2010 a principal with the Bolshoi Theatre.
Unfortunately a week before Natalia was expected to perform The Sleeping Beauty with American Ballet Theatre, she was mugged just out side of the MET. She only suffered from minor bruises (which is nothing to a ballerina:)), and a lose of pointe shoes. Fortunately she recovered well and went on to preform the next week.
Well that is all for today, next week I will be writing about the famous choreographer Frederic Ashton.
See you soon,
The Bloggy Ballerina
